要旨
A new runoff analysis method based on Normal Basin Hydro-cycle Rate (NBHR model) was introduced in the previous paper1). Runoff Q2 at the basin outlet (elevation T2) consists of the inflow Q1 at the basin inlet (elevation T1), the direct flow from effective rain Qre=R(rainfall)−e(evapotranspiration) , the base flow Qbf=T2×Sy determined by NBHR, and the indirect flow from the storage water Qst=Qw ,as shown by Eq.(4) in the present paper. Each hydroterm is divided by its elevation,T1 ,T2 ,Tm, respectively, to maintain NBRH Sy. The analytical results of the daily, hourly, 10 minutely time base show that they are given by T1=T2=log(2), and Tm={log(10000)+log(2)}/2,in m. We can express the flood critical circumstance by Eq.(6),where R,S and Q1,Q2,Qw reach to the saturated Rc,Sy, and Q1*,Q2*,Qw*, respectively, and e, g (infiltration) are small and neglegible as compared with other terms. When we have much more R and Q1 in critical state, Q2 can be expressed as Eq.(8), in addition, river flood O as Eq.(9), and inundation I as Eq.(10). Thus we can simply make up flood diagnosis under the present channel conveyance capacity Q1*, Q2* with the heavy rain R. A diagnosis Karte is formed in the format as Table 1. It tells us how much rain the present Q1* and Q2* hold up, and offers a prescription on new Q1*, Q2*, against the ranked-up heavy rain.

要旨
Reduction in class size in order to increase the quality and amount of time students used English was achieved through the use of Internet-based group projects. During the semester course,students practiced communication skills using content-based materials, conducted research on the Internet, and give a PowerPoint presentation in English. Additionally, they acquired experience in data organization, computer usage, note taking, and collaboration.

ELA により形成された poly-Si 結晶成長様式 -グレイン形状と水素の関係係-

要旨
We investigate the characteristic of the poly-Si film prepared by the excimer laser annealing (ELA) of a-Si deposited using plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) method on SiO2 / SiN / glass substrate (SiN substrate). Compared with the poly-Si film prepared by ELA of a-Si deposited by low-pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD) on the quartz substrate, the Raman intensity of the poly-Si film on the SiN substrate is larger than that on the quartz substrate. The stress of the poly-Si film on the SiN substrate is smaller than that on the quartz substrate. The average grin size of the poly-Si film on the SiN substrate is approximately 70nm, and the disk-shaped grain, which is observed for the poly-Si film on the quartz substrate, is not observed. The avarage roughness (Ra) of poly-Si surface on the SiN substrate is larger than that on the quartz substrate. These phenomena are due to the difference of the crystal growth mechanims of the poly-Si film between on the SiN substrate and on the quartz substrate. We discuss these mechanisms from a viewpoint of the hydrogens included in the film and the origin of them.

土の締固め特性と粒子破砕に関する実験的考察

要旨
In order to understand the compaction characteristics and particle breakage for soil, a series of the experimental tests have been carried out for two Masado and silica sand. One of the Masado was sampled in Ube, and the other in Sondo, Incheon city, South Korean. X-ray diffraction, the mineral composition classification test, the single particle crushing test were conducted to understand the physical properties of Masado, especially the degree of weathering. (1) Sondo Masado contains 30% of the colored mineral. The rate of the colored mineral of the Ube Masado is as low as 9%. (2) Sondo Masado has lower average single particle crushing strength than that for Ube Masado. As comparing with Silica, single particle strength of Masado was lower, and the variation in particle strength for Masado was larger. (3) Although the density of Masado in the compaction test increased clearly with increasing particle breakage, the amount of particle breakage doesn’t control the degree of compaction (the density) for soil from the experimental evidence which Sondo masado showed more breakage and the lower density than Ube

小野田徳利窯の建設年代の推定に関する研究

要旨
This paper deals with the preservation of Onoda Bottle Kiln which was built in Taiheiyo Cement Factory in Onoda City. Cementitious rendering which had been spread partly on the furnace of the kiln until January 1999, were removed for repairing deteriorations. As a result, the old brick walls were found under the cementitious rendering. It was different from the other parts in bonding pattern. October 2000, the excavation started around the kiln so that three clay brick masonry foundations connected with the existing kiln and two small foundations in the east and one foundation in the west were found. From these investigation results and textual material, the existing kiln was clarified to have been built in 1883 (Meiji 16).

堰からの越流による河床洗掘および堆積に関する実験的研究

要旨
Riffles and pools have important roles for a river ecology and river environment. It is useful to develop a method for creation of riffle and pool. Our final goal is a development of technical method for creation of riffles and pools by means of over flow from weir. As first stage of it, we have studied that the characteristics of scours created by over flow from a sharp crested weir and an inclined weir. The main results of this study are as follows;
(1) The maximum scour depths by the inclined weir are small compared with ones by the sharp crested weir when the gradients of inclined weir are mild. However, ones by the inclined weir approach ones by the sharp crested weir as the gradient of inclined weir become steep.
(2) The maximum scour lengths by the inclined weir are large compared with ones by the sharp crested weir when the gradients of inclined weir are mild.
(3) The scour depths in front of the weir by the inclined weir are large compared with ones by the sharp crested weir when the gradients of inclined weir are steep.

要旨
This study aims to clarify the applicability of Distinct Element Method to pile drive simulation. In this study, element spring constant are determined by Hertz’s elastic contact theory, and ground model are created by free fall method. Four different ground models and three pile models were used in calculation. In each computation, relative displacements of pile and force distribution in ground were assessed. From the comparison with these results of analysis, effect of boundary, ground model size and pile driving force became clear.

生分解性プラスチックによる竹材の有効利用に関する研究

要旨
The purpose of this study is to apply bamboo fibers to biodegradable resin matrix composites, preferably in place of practical engineering plastics. Press forming method was used for fabrication of the composite. The result showed that tensile strength of the composite was 51.4 MPa; Young’s modulus was 9.60 GPa. Such mechanical properties are comparable to the engineering plastics. The bamboo fiber composite was also compared with biodegradable composites including sawdust, and indicated four times higher in strength. This reason was clarified from the short-fiber reinforcement theory. Finally a theoretical strength of the bamboo fiber composite was predicted from a rule of mixtures, using the mono-filament test result obtained experimentally.

三軸圧縮試験におけるセメント安定処理土の圧密養生効果

要旨
Undrained shear strength of cement-stabilized soil can be changed by consolidation due to overburden pressure. Effect of isotropic consolidation stress during curing on undrained shear characteristic of cement-stabilized soil was examined using triaxial compression test apparatus. A stabilized soil used in a series of tests was a mixture of sandy soil and ordinary portland cement. Triaxial compression tests (CU) were performed on the soil under conditions of different magnitudes and times of applying confining stress. The test results are compared with those of unconfined compression tests on the same soil obtained by another one-dimensionally consolidation device. Excess pore water pressure dissipates and volumetric strain becomes a constant value, as the consolidation time proceeds. Undrained shear strength of cement-stabilized soil increases with an increase in initial effective confining pressure and curing time, whereas it decreases with an increase in delayed loading time. Behavior of excess pore water pressure shows a similar tendency with that of overconsolidated clay. These exists a good correlation between triaxial compression and unconfined compression tests in terms of undrained shear strength and volumetric strain.

In considering slope stability with accuracy, strength anisotrophy is one of most important factors. This paper describes slope stability analysis of weathered soil of Sangun metamorphic rock based on its strength anisotrophy. Sangun metamorphic rocks have a variety of schstosity. Undisturbed soil samples were sheared at different angles of shear surface to schistosity in box shear test apparatus. Main conclusions are as follows. Firstly, as the angle of shear surface to the schistosity, the internal friction angle increases and cohesion decreases. Secondly, safety factor obtained from Bishop method is significantly affected by the strength anisotrophy due to the schistosity.

Research on emotion has been done mainly in psychology. But recently, emotion has been dealt with in Kansei engineering and Kansei Information Processing and some human emotional models have been applied to industrial products. When we think about the interface between persons and robots, It is very important to use emotional expressions for the mutual communication. In this paper, we propose an emotional processing model using genetic algorithm for networks that change the emotional information from the database information to color information. This model has two function parts. First, we define the fundamental emotion groups that have grades. Next, we construct the emotion database and change the emotional information to HVC color information.

地方都市中心市街地における土地利用特性- その2-

要旨
Now, urban area in the local city, a decrease in population has problems. Infrastructure improvement by extension of a narrow road and introduction of the effective use, policy, and city type residence of a vacant lot are desired. It aims at clarifying the planned subject about improving habitation environment by this research approaching from the inside of a town, and considering an elucidation for a land use situation as grasp. The urban area in the Yamaguchi city has been occupied by the low-rise resident area consisted of narrow roads. And many the vacant lots and vacant rooms has no utility. And since aging of the whole area is progressing, it can predict that vacant lots and vacant rooms increase in number further. Especially about a vacant room, before the dilapidation grow, it is necessary to perform a certain measure.

生活操作としてのドア開閉における力学環境評価手法の提案

要旨
In this paper, a new method for evaluating human being’s life operations in the buildings from the viewpoints of clarifying mechanical environments are proposed. The acceleration waveforms in door operations were measured by a triaxial piezo-resistive accelerometer attached in the right wrist and the center gravity of bodies. Perceptual evaluations based on SD method was immediately carried out after the measurements. The maximum acceleration, maximum velocity, displacement and energy obtained by numerical integrations and the spectrum inclination values by spectrum analyses were compared with the perceptual ones. As a result, a psued-evaluating method of waveforms are proposed on the basis of relationships between both types of the values.
