要旨
We investigate the most suitable arrangement of HTS bulks in an active maglev system comprised of multiple HTS bulks and an electromagnet. We measured levitation height and trapped field distribution of a field-cooled bulk as a function of the location of the bulk in the radial direction of the electromagnet. In spite of unstable levitation, the levitation height at the same operating current was increased with the distance between the axes of the bulk and the electromagnet. The levitation force was closely related to the distance among the bulks and the interaction among the bulks was observed when the distance is small. The maximum levitation force was obtained when the bulk was located near the inner boundary of the windings. This implies that the location of multiple bulks realizing the maximum levitation force is closely related to the sizes of electromagnet such as thickness, inner and outer radii and the most suitable arrangement of multiple HTS bulks can be obtained by considering the magnetic field distribution generated by the electromagnet.

要旨
In this study, I aimed to discriminate between education of basic design and education of composition and construction. Watching the works of students of BAUHAUS, value of design was not seen in their composition and construction. However, they were regarded as basic design. The results show some important factor for today s real basic design. I have recognized that design through education of basic design is an effective way in the future.

次世代素子、Si 共鳴トンネルMOS トランジスタの提案及び理論検討

要旨
The characteristics of the Si resonant tunneling metal-oxide-semiconductor transistor (SRTMOST), which was proposed to realize a low-power and high-speed characteristics, were reviewed. From the discussion related to the suppression of the DT from the source to the drain under the gate-off condition, the excellent switching operation, the optimum off-set energy between the dielectric films at the both channel edges and Si and the feasibility of the three-valued logic circuit, it is shown that the SRTMOST would become the potential candidate of the substitution for the conventional metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) in the next generation.

pH が異なる土懸濁液の沈降・堆積特性

要旨
In order to clarify the influence of pH on the sedimentation characteristic of a soil suspension, sedimentation analyses were performed on 5 soil samples of which pH values were artificially changed by adding sulfuric acid or sodium hydroxide solutions. There exists a liner relationship between the thickness of sediment and the effective depth of soil suspension. Therefore the sedimentation characteristic can be evaluated by the effective depth. Also, settling velocity seems to be dependent on the pH, clay fraction and a kind of main clay mineral. This phenomenon may be induced by the difference of electric charge on surface of soil particles due to the pH of solution.

要旨
To determine residual strengths of a kaolin and a landslide clay, reversal box shear tests were carried out. In this paper the normal stress, the shear displacement rate, the overconsolidation ratio, and the disturbance and the grading of the soil samples are taken up among many factors affecting test results. Consequently, residual strength of kaolin is not significantly influenced by the normal stress above 200 kPa, the overconsolidation ratio and the shear displacement rate below 1.0 mm/min. Also, there exists no difference between residual strengths of undisturbed and disturbed samples. Furthermore, residual strength of disturbed samples passed through 0.42 mm and 0.85 mm sieves respectively, was much lower than that of sample having an original grading.
